The effectiveness of education and teaching in the university is assessed mainly from a computer-based questionnaire survey, given at the beginning and the end of each semester by the Dean's Office to all students, to measure the satisfaction of students with the teachers and course content. The survey results can be adopted to improve the teaching quality.
Counseling and Assessment of Student Learning
Office Hours System - Each full-time teacher is required to allocate office hours for students.
Mid-Semester Presentiment System - Within a week of the mid-term examination in each semester, the teacher makes a list of students who are in need of the academic counseling, and sends it to the faculty office. A notification is then sent to parents of students and faculty teachers as a reference. It forces parents and faculty teachers to work together to strengthen supervision and to enhance the learning status of each student.
Multiple assessments for Students - Teachers assess students according to class participation, homework, oral reports, quiz and mid-term and final results, thus ensuring diverse and comprehensive assessment.
Monograph Evaluation Methods - The objective of courses offered by this department is to train students to become professionals with specialized skills and practical experiences. The courses enable students to collaborate the theory and practice to enhance theoretical study results, and to strengthen their skills of independent thinking, problem-solving. Every Junior student will be required to take a two-semester project course, and hold an exhibition on his special topic. The topics are graded by committees formed by the internal and external examiners.
