| 講 題：Democratizing Access to Genomic and Bioinformatics Data 主講人：Dr. Brian Chen ( Centre for Research in Neuroscience) 時 間：102年09月18日 (星期三，13：10~15：00) 地 點：臺北大學三峽校區商學大樓1F02 Abstract With the widespread availability of genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data, the need for user-friendly access to this information becomes all the more urgent. Availability of this data significantly impacts fields such as agricultural, livestock, and food industries, biology and biomedical research, biotechnology, health care, and even the pet industry. Accessing genomics and bioinformatics data is difficult due to the volume of information available and the level of background knowledge required to navigate data repositories. The online resources that currently exist have been created to perform highly specific functions intended for specialists, and thus typically emphasize functionality over user experience. Therefore, we sought to create an intuitive web-based application that will allow any general user more efficient access to genomic information, and in doing so, translate the massive and complex amounts of bioinformatics data into a simple and easy-to-navigate web resource.
